KINGSBRIDGE Estuary Boat Club is hoping for a big turnout for the Crabshell Quay Regatta on Sunday, July 31.

All monies raised will be donated to the Triangle Centre, Kingsbridge’s very own cancer support centre.

The regatta is run by the club, in collaboration with the Crabshell Inn and the Waterborn Stand Up Paddleboard centre.

Not only will the regatta host the first World Championship Backwards Rowing competition, but two teams of pirates from Triocean and Waterborn will race on giant paddleboards.

And Medieval paddleboarding jousting knights will compete to win the ‘hand of the lady of the regatta’, and to cap it all off, there will be the greasy pole event!

And Wills Marine will be giving free boat trips down the Estuary throughout the afternoon.

The events begin at 3pm, and if you wish to take part, it’s best to apply in advance - some of the events are already full.

Details and application forms can be obtained from the Kingsbridge Information Centre and the Crabshell Inn.
