AT a recent meeting of Kingsbridge Amateur Theatrical Society, member Grant Davis gave a lively presentation of his quirky new comedy musical, the swashbuckling ‘Pieces of After Eight’ - a modern day pirate tale.

Grant, a comedy writer for many years, has collaborated with fellow writer Johnny Jarman to produce an amusing story featuring pirates and smugglers, all set in a hotel by the sea. There is, of course a love story and a dastardly plot to usurp the pirate captain but all is reconciled in the end in true musical comedy style.

KATS members were singing along and tapping their toes to the varied original songs composed by Grant, with lyrics by Grant and John, with a little help from Nicky Summerson.

KATS will be presenting the world premiere of this musical next spring between Wednesday, March 29 and Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Malborough Village Hall.

New members are always welcome to join KATS.
