THE King of Prussia pub in Kingsbridge has raised more than £200 with their quiz in support of Stand Up To Cancer.

The pub, run by Sara Roberton and Tim Newman, holds a quiz night every second Monday of the month, rotated with The Creek’s End pub, in support of cancer charities, the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, the Triangle Centre and Kingsbridge Rugby Club.

Landlady Sara said: ‘Cancer charities are close to our heart in the King of Prussia, Tim has lost family members to it and we have customers who are battling with it at the moment, some of them for the second time.

‘We usually have the Stand Up To Cancer Quiz separately, but this year we have put it in with out Monday quiz with Leighton Elliott and we raised £210.

Stand Up To Cancer is part of Cancer Research UK and Helen Masters, manager of the Cancer Research charity shop on Bridge Street said: ‘A huge, huge thank you to the King of Prussia for raising the money. They support us every year and we always appreciate it.

‘Every little helps and we are organising a collection at Tesco in Kingsbridge on Tuesday, October 18, from 10am and are always on the look out for volunteers.’
