A LOCAL woman who completed the 630 mile south west coast path has raised £1,200 for Diabetes UK.

Jane Mann, from California Cross is now organising a couple of additional events with the hope of raising further funds for research into Type 1 Diabetes research.

Jane said: ‘I chose Type 1 diabetic research because my husband has had diabetes for 20 years. He had a midlife onset and has found it really difficult - his blood sugars are really volatile, what they called ‘brittle.’’

Jane will be hosting a coffee morning at Aveton Gifford village hall on Saturday, January 23 from 10.30am to 12pm and a charity dinner at Avon Mill on the evening of Friday, March 18.
