If you, or someone you know, is an unpaid carer, Modbury Health Centre are holding a drop in session for information.
Held at the health centre on Wednesday, June 14, between 10am and 3.30pm, with Sarah Barker, carer support officer from Devon Carers, who will be offering an information drop-in service.
The services provided by Devon Carers include carer health and wellbeing checks, hospital discharge support, training courses, peer support service, newsletter and carers alert card.
Sheila Harrison, befriending co-ordinator for Modbury Caring will also be in attendance on the day from 11am to 12.30pm. As Sheila explains, “explains “Modbury Caring’s befriending service aims to help alleviate the feeling of isolation for people in lonely and isolated conditions by matching them up with a Befriender who visits them regularly”.Also present from 11am to 12.30pm will be Jules Buck representing the Health and Social Care sector who work across the NHS and Social Services.
This event is part of National Carers Week 2017. The Health Centre will also maintain the profile of services to support our invaluable carers in the community throughout June by maintaining an information display in the surgery.
If you can’t make it to the session on Wednesday 14th, you can still drop by to pick up useful information and book a future consultation with Sarah who comes to the surgery once a month, as does Jules Buck; appointments with both Sarah and Jules can be booked via the reception team.
