The Friends of South Hams Hospital group is donating £150,000 for the purchase of a new digital X-ray machine at the hospital.
The new service is now available for patients referred by their GPs, the minor injuries unit or elsewhere, which should avoid unnecessary visits to the hospitals at Derriford or Torbay.
Advantages of digital radio-graphy include more accurate imaging, the direct transfer of electronic images to the hospital consultant and less radiation for patients and staff.
The Friends’ grant is made possible through generous donations by the South Hams community. Please visit us at our stand at the Kingsbridge Show for more information.
