JUST over a week after a fire devastated Hatch Marquee Hire’s warehouse and the majority of their marquees, the company is getting back on its feet.

Co-owners Jon Green and Charlie Cust explained: ‘Our first priority was to speak to all of our clients who had booked marquees over the summer. We wanted to inform them of the situation personally and to assist them with making alternative marquee arrangements.’

Hatch Marquee Hire can provide marquees for up to seven or eight weddings each weekend but post fire the company now have just two structures that they can use.

‘Because we provide such a bespoke product we have had to work through each weekend and match the stock we have left to the weddings that it best suits’ said Jon. ‘For those brides and grooms we can still provide a marquee.’

‘Our riggers have been brilliant,’ said Charlie Cust, ‘working without any warehouse facilities, but have still managed to turn up on site in good spirits and do a great job.’

This is also reflected on Hatch Marquees Facebook page, where one of their clients posted: ‘A massive thank you to you and your team, in such difficult conditions for yourselves, you managed to produce such a beautiful marquee for our wedding.

‘The team setting up were so helpful and couldn’t do more for us, we were over the moon with what you supplied and I really hope you get back on your feet ASAP.’

Laura Partridge shared two photos of Hatch Marquee Hire marquees on Facebook on Monday, just seven days after the fire, saying: ‘It has to be said, the Hatch marquees bunch have been absolutely incredible. I’m sure everyone will agree, to pull something as beautiful as this out of the bag in less than four days, after losing pretty much everything, is just amazing.’

The business has had amazing support from their clients and from the industry as a whole. They are in communication with a lot of marquee companies, who are now supplying marquees to their clients or in some cases are working alongside the Hatch team.

‘I can’t say it is easy when you have put a lot or work into creating the bookings we had this summer to then hand it over to someone else, but we have to make sure that our bride and grooms still have a special day.’ said Charlie.

Looking forward, Charlie and Jon are keen to get started with rebuilding the business as soon as possible. ‘We are waiting on confirmation from our insurance company so that we can start making decisions about replenishing stock and putting together a rebuild schedule’, said Jon.

The whole team would like to again thank everyone for the huge amount of well wishes and the kind offers of help they have received from the local community.
