HUNDREDS of South Hams residents have been revealed to be searching online for illicit hanky-panky.

The fact has come to light after data was hacked from the notorious Ashley Madison ‘have an affair’ website.

Recently hackers stole data from the website, potentially exposing the records of millions of registered users.

Now, a map created by Tecnilógica, a Spanish ‘internet solutions’ website, has displayed user numbers by area and gender, carefully removing any sensitive information, such as names and addresses.

This exposes an unexpected portrait of the faithfulness – or faithlessness – of local residents.

In total, 592 South Hams residents have registered accounts on the website, with 162 from Ivybridge, 152 from Totnes, 125 from Kingsbridge and 104 from Dartmouth.

And, in terms of percentage of residents, Kingsbridge emerges as the most liberal hotspot in the district – closely followed by Dartmouth.

It is, perhaps, of little surprise that the vast majority of users are men, accounting for 93 per cent of users in the South Hams.

Although in Kingsbridge, lusting ladies accounted for 11 per cent of the users, compared to only 4 per cent in Salcombe.

At first sight, South Brent appears to be the most honourable of all places listed.

But this may have to do with the facts that the town has suffered from problems with internet access in the past.
