I thought I would take this opportunity to say thank you to the hard-working fair committee for again putting on a varied and engaging Kingsbridge Fair Week.

Unfortunately the elements were not the best, but this did not deter many locals and ­visitors from coming and ­supporting the various events.

Wednesday’s lantern parade was brilliant – the workshop certainly brought out some marvellous lanterns.

Well done to all who took part, and thanks to all who stood and sat in the downpour – I’m sure the committee appreciated everyone’s support.

The same thanks goes to the town criers, who were drenched on Friday and Saturday, but the spirit of Fair Week rolls on.

To everyone, who is involved with Fair Week, well done and many thanks. Here’s to next July.
