Once again local euchre teams turned out in force to contest the Saltstone Caring Euchre Trophy Tournament.
By the end of the night, John Bond and Mike Langman were the winners, and the event had raised £237 for Kingsbridge and Saltstone Caring.
Hosted by The Creeks End Inn who have been stalwart supporters of the charity from its very early days, the tournament attracted 23 teams and whilst the euchre was taken very seriously indeed, the evening was one of laughter and fun.
Organised as ever by Bob Gould and Steve Pike, the night ran without a hitch and everyone left looking forward to next year’s event.
On behalf of Saltstone Caring, Elizabeth Bewley-Jones said: “We simply could not run this fundraiser without the unstinting support of Yvonne, Terry, Steve and all the willing, helpful staff at The Creeks End Inn; Bob on behalf of the local euchre league; all the generous donors of some amazing raffle prizes; and the teams who turn out every time.
“Whosoever names go on the Trophy, everyone is a winner in our eyes – and most of all, Saltstone Caring who ended the evening with £237 more than at the start!”
