THE Salcombe Rainbows visited Salcombe Fire Station to see how people in the community help us.
Hazel Burkitt, Brown Owl, said: ‘They loved the tech equipment such as the thermal imaging camera and having a turn on the walkie-talkies. We learnt how to be safe and when to call 999.
‘The girls were amazed at the cutting equipment and thought they were a very big pair of scissors! The girls all have a go at working the hose and amazingly, no one got wet!’
The Salcombe Rainbows gave their thanks to station officer Mark Furness for organising the visit and to Mark Roberts and Jed Jedynack for giving their time to run the session.
