SEVEN teams from Kingsbridge Community College and Horizons Youth Centre braved Dartmoor for another successful Ten Tors Challenge earlier this month.

There was a strong sense of determination and resilience among all of the teams, as they carried everything they needed to survive on the moor for 36 hours, while travelling one of three routes, either 35, 45 or 55 miles.

Of particular note was the sixth form team, who completed the gruelling 55 mile route with just seven minutes to spare, crossing the finishing line at 4.53pm on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Community College said: ‘We are extremely proud of all the students who have taken part in the expeditions training this year.

‘Many thanks to all of the staff who have given up time to train the students, especially our crew of amazing volunteers, and to Beers LLP and Salcombe Dairy who provided sponsorship for the teams.’
