FIVE pupils from Kingsbridge Community College travelled up to Exeter Arena to take part in the Devon Schools Athletics Championships this June.

Max Bewley came fourth in the 100 metres with a time of 12.26 seconds; Tom Broadgate came seventh in the 3,000 metres; Jake Goode-Gray came fourth in the 300 metres; Lenny Flynn came third in the 200 metres and Max Bewley jumped 11 metres 72 centimetres in the triple jump and came second.

Marcel Purchase won the 200 metre race with a time of 25.34 seconds which qualified for the South West Schools Championships.

He competed in the South West Schools Championships last weekend, and came an impressive fourth.

A spokesperson for KCC said: ‘This was a great result!’
