PUPILS of Aveton Gifford Pre-School visited Waterside Garage as part of their work on ‘Jobs People Do’.

The children visited the Kingsbridge garage on Friday, January 15, where they met mechanic Rob Tucker who showed them the tools and equipment he used for doing his job of fixing and servicing vehicles.

Mandy Tucker, manager of Aveton Gifford Pre-School, said: ‘They were able to watch a car being raised up on the ramp and learned about the parts that could be seen from underneath, such as the exhaust pipe, gear box, engine, springs and fuel tank.

‘They helped to pump up the tyres and examined some of the tools. They were given a rag to take home as a souvenir and the garage provided some spare parts boxes to enhance their role play area back at pre-school.’
