Dartmouth Town Council has organised a Careers Fair this Saturday (April 23).

It is a new initiative aimed at showcasing the variety of occupations and opportunities that are available to young people locally.

It’s in conjunction with Dartmouth Academy, who are supplying the facilities and South Devon College who are supporting with their Apprenticeship Team.

This idea of the Careers Fair is to showcase local businesses to the young people of Dartmouth from local schools and colleges.

Dartmouth Town Council said: “We feel that youngsters are, perhaps, not fully aware of the number of superb employment opportunities which exist on their doorstep and we would therefore like to stimulate their interest and provide the chance for them to engage with local firms and discuss their best route into a career of their choice.”

The event will run all day from 10am to 4.30pm with the afternoon session, which starts at 1.30pm aimed at 17 to 19 year olds in the local community.
