ORGANISERS of the Malborough Music Monster Mash donated £2,400 to three charities last weekend.

The Monster Mash is held in April every year in memory of Dave Sharp, and money raised is divided between nominated charities, with the remaining 25 per cent supporting youth music in the local area through the Dave Sharp Young Musicians Fund.

The cheques were presented at the Mill Club in Kingsbridge, to St Luke’s Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and Kingsbridge Triangle Centre.

The evening also included impressive performances from Bulletproof Future, Isaac Flynn and The Workshop Band - made up of members of DSYMF.

The Triangle Centre at South Hams Hospital offers complementary therapies to cancer patients. It also provides emotional support, counselling and support groups for patients and their families.

Over the past eight years, the support and generosity of those attending the Monster Mash events has raised a total of £12,000 in Dave’s memory, including £4,000 for St Luke’s Hospice, £3,700 for the South Hams Chemotherapy Outreach Project, £3,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support and £800 for the Triangle Centre.

Martin Cording from the Monster Mash team said: ‘We want to thank all those who have supported, performed, worked and attended the mash.’

The next Malborough Music Monster Mash will be held on April 23 next year.
