Geoff Massingham, of Retreat Close, Kingsbridge, writes:

If the rhythmically challenged graffiti artist is tempted to follow our mayor’s advice to get some wood from the recycling centre at Torr Quarry, Gazette, September 25, all I can say is: ‘Good luck with that one pal.’

With the intention of putting up some shelving in the outside shed, I too went to the recycling centre for some bits of wood on the premise that the clue was in the title.

It was as if I was asking them to give me the crown jewels.

I did point out what ‘recycling‘ means, with the response of: ‘Yeah. All goes up to Exeter. Mate. Wood Yew Waste.’ Quite a few environmental land miles gobbled up there, then.

I haven’t got my shelves and I suspect the Latin salsa graffiti artist hasn’t got their new canvas either.
