BLUERIVER Cottages presented a cheque for £935 to Children’s Hospice South West, following a cake sale and raffle last weekend.
The holiday cottages company raised £370 by selling raffle tickets and cakes from their office in Kingsbridge on Saturday, March 26.
The company also raised a further £565 by donating £1 from every one of its holiday bookings to the charity.
Kate Newell from Blue River Cottages said: ‘It was a great day and very busy from the start. We would like to say a big thank you to Thurlestone Hotel staff for not only donating a raffle prize, but baking and helping out on the day as well.
‘Other people we would like to thank are Bouncy Jim’s bouncy castle hire, the Crabshell Inn, Stokeley Farm shop, Emma Please, the Rowbury Gallery, Becky Bettesworth, Luscombe Maye and Save a Packet.’
Kate continued: ‘We have supported CHSW for a couple of years now and originally got the inspiration to support the charity from our managing director Phil Hayward’s mum Elaine, who has always helped with fundraising events for the hospice for several years.
‘It is a charity that all the staff feel is a lovely organisation and we always try to help raise money for them when we can.’
