The Morrisons store in Kingsbridge was reopened this morning by Ivy Hurle and her dad Jake.

The supermarket has been closed for a week following a refurbishment and extension, and Ivy was invited to officially open the shop due to her involvement with children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Morrisons has teamed up with CLIC Sargent in January as their ‘Raise a Smile’ charity partner for three years, with collection boxes in store and planned events being organised over the next three years.

Ivy cut the ribbon alongside her dad Jake, CLIC Sargent fundraising and engagement manager for Devon and Cornwall Jordan Anderton, fresh food pre-pack manager Doreen Prowse, store manager Steve Brannan and senior manager Wayne Hill.

To thank her for opening the new shop, Morrisons staff presented Ivy with a bag of goodies including a Frozen magazine and some new clothes.

The new look Morrisons shop now has a barista bar in the entrance, the old cigarette and newspaper kiosk has been moved to the extension inside the shop, there is a new ‘make-your-own’ pizza bar, a larger range of Nutmeg children’s clothes and there are more self-service tills and less usual tills, new fridges and freezers.
