A young boy has achieved a personal best in his last of ten sponsored runs in aid of the National Autism Charity UK.
Alexander Wood, 10, from Kingsbridge, set himself a challenge back in the spring time, to run ten five-kilometre Park Run races by the end of July.
He has been completing the runs with his mother Alison, and completed his final run in a personal best time of 26 minutes, 15 seconds, and came first in his age group.
Alison said: “Alexander was keen to help spread awareness of autism as so many people are impacted in our society today, so we took part in the Plym Valley Park Runs, which happen every Saturday at 9am in Plymouth, part of a nationwide park run setup, which is a great organisation for getting people out running and motivated to achieve personal bests.
“He loves running and we are continuing with these runs with a 10K as the next goal!!!”
