VISITORS and locals alike basked in glorious sunshine at the annual Prawle Fair last weekend.

The traditional fair is held every year on the village green, and is the perfect day out for the whole family.

Among the highlights of the day included local ceilidh band Rumpus, who entertained the crowds with their upbeat music throughout the afternoon.

The Prawle stocks provided the perfect opportunity for medieval justice, while traditional attractions such as the vintage swing boats, the greasy pole, the hoopla and coconut shy were all popular with young and old alike.

Competitions for ‘knobbly knees’ and ‘handsomest ankles’ saw a significant number of entries, and in the evening, there was live music from Malavita in the Pigs Nose hall.

Prawle Fair is a great community effort, with many of the villagers involved in one way or another, setting up tents, running stalls or organising logistics.

It is run annually to raise money for the upkeep of the community hall and to support various local good causes, such as the Devon Air Ambulance.
