THURLESTONE golf club seniors section received a surprise on a recent tour to South Wales – after learning that the Welsh rugby team were staying in the same hotel.

A couple of the Thurlestone members who are Welsh by birth were delighted – and their excitement increased as they bumped into their heroes around the hotel.

This culminated in Warren Gatland, Rod Howley and the whole Welsh coaching squad entering the restaurant.

This was too much for the patriotic pair of Hywel Jones and Ian S. Jones, only a day after Wales had beaten England at Twickenham, and they jumped at the opportunity to have their picture taken with head coach Warren Gatland.
