In this week’s Kingsbridge & Salcombe Gazette, we lead on a story about food hygiene in businesses around the South Hams.

According to the Food Standards Agency, the district council sent out more than 200 warning letters to businesses, demanding improvements to their hygiene standards.

We list those businesses in our circulation area who failed to meet level 3, ’generally satisfactory’ in the nationally recognised standards, including those recommended to make urgent or major improvements.

Our picture story shows part of a winning team of lifeguards from Bantham who, along with five others, brought home a haul of national titles from the Surf Life Saving GB Inshore Rescue Boat Championships.

We also have the newest details on Kingsbridge in Bloom’s big win at the South West in Bloom awards.

As always, we feature information about ’What’s On’, around the clubs, and ’Village Voices’ all inside.

Remember if you can’t get to the shops, or you have moved out of the area, you can get all South Hams Newspapers online here: http://www.southhams-today.co.uk/subscribe.cfm.
