THE 11th Cornwood Challenge proved to be the most successful yet, with more than 200 runners taking on the 10k course and 100 the fun run.
The event enjoyed great weather on the evening of Saturday, July 25, and saw course records tumble in both the men’s and ladies’ divisions.
Jim Cole of Tavistock broke his own record, while Naomi Flanagan set a new best ladies’ time.
The races were started by Phil and Lynn Boon of Ermington Road Motors, with the cups presented by Andy Vincent of event sponsor Sibelco.

Veteran men (over 45): 1. Peter Monaghan, 2. Paul Thomas, 3. Andrew Marshall.
Veteran ladies (over 45): 1. Louise Burton, 2. Catherine Shortman, 3. Miranda Burke.
Men’s team winner: Erme Valley Harriers – William Battershill, Alister Bristow, Tom Packer.
Ladies’ team winner: Plymouth Musketeers – Vicky Sanders, Alison Caldwell, Kirsty Ireland.
