LOCAL chef Krista Rogers has returned from her dog sledding challenge in Sweden in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance.

Krista has raised over £3,400 through donations, raffles, car boot sales, cake stalls and more in order to fulfil her challenge and raise as much money as possible for the ‘amazing local emergency services’ as she calls it.

Before she left, Krista said: ‘I would love to raise as much money as possible so they can continue their life-changing and life-saving work.

‘Devon is covered in beautiful and remote countryside but in the case of an emergency, this can prove to be a disadvantage to the patient as many landscapes are inaccessible by land ambulance.

‘So the air ambulance is an essential piece of kit for this particular county.’

On her return, she said: ‘I had an amazing experience with the set charity challenge of dog sledding in Sweden, starting on Saturday, February 20, for six days.

‘I would love to say a massive thank you to Jordana and Kent of Husky Tours Lapland and my mushing team of girlies Raika, Moni, Gray and Tinja, I will never forget the time shared.’

Krista also passed on her thanks to ‘everyone for all their support and donations’ especially family and friends, who she calls ‘totally incredible’.

Funds raised so far have reached £3,410.95, but you can still donate to the Devon Air Ambulance by visiting Krista’s JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/Krista-Rogers/
