THE South Hams Hospital League of Friends presented a cheque for £20,000 to the Kingsbridge Triangle Centre on Tuesday.

The money was raised through the League of Friends’ extensive fundraising activities and is a significant contribution to the continued work of the drop-in cancer support centre.

Debbie Clift, cancer support nurse specialist said: ‘Patients, carers and staff from the Triangle Drop-in Cancer Support Centre at South Hams Hospital would like to say a massive thank you to South Hams Hospital League of Friends.

‘The league has supported the Triangle Centre from its opening and have enabled us to continue to offer on-going support to cancer patients and their families and carers.’

‘Without on-going support such as this gift from the League of Friends, we would struggle to provide this valuable service,’ Debbie added.

The Triangle Centre, based at the hospital in Kingsbridge, is staffed by experienced cancer nurses, therapists and trained volunteers. The centre helps cancer patients and their families navigate through treatment and recovery.

They are also able to provide support to anyone, regardless of whether they or a relative are accessing treatment.

To meet and talk with the friendly and professional team, the Triangle Centre meets at South Hams Hospital every Tuesday between 10am and 4pm - no appointment is necessary.

If you would prefer to speak to them on the telephone, they can be contacted on Tuesdays between 10am and 4pm, by calling 01548 852349 and asking for the Triangle Centre.
