I don’t mind people holding beliefs that I don’t share, but I do take exception to them insulting my intelligence in support of those beliefs.
So, to answer the point raised by Roger Tyler in the paper recently, yes I have seen the Pythagoras theorem proved in the physical world. In fact, of course, the theorem is itself the proof of the proposition that X2 is equal to Y2 plus Z2 where they are all sides of a right-angled triangle, with X being the hypotenuse.
In my schooldays we had to prove this on paper using geometry. Times have of course moved on and a search of YouTube will provide other real-world proofs using tiles or even water. If Mr Tyler will provide similar real-world proof of his beliefs, I promise to pay strict attention.
