Stokenham Preschool has recently undergone a makeover, with much more outside space for the children to enjoy.
The space outside had always been popular and well-used by the children, which already included wooden balance beams and a wobbly bridge, but now they can also enjoy the new minibeast exploration area, potting zone and sensory herb wall.
The other newest addition is a multicoloured hopscotch grid laid out along the new wood-chip border of the garden.
The refurbishment did not stop there, a large sandpit was built and a new flowered bank was created incorporating acers, laurels, daffodils. Inside the preschool has also seen some changes - there is now a building zone for the children to play in, plus an updated, dedicated reading zone.
The outdoor space also now has a garden shed, thanks to funds raised at a recent pig racing event at The Globe Inn that made £800, which provides extra storage and freeing up space inside for the kids to play and learn.
Julie Dixon, manager, said: “The improvements made to the preschool have had such an immediate, positive impact on the children; they have a wonderful new outdoor space to explore and play in as well as some fabulous new learning equipment to use when inside.
“We really are lucky to have such a super committee who continue to put their care and time into the upkeep of the preschool.”
