CHARLETON Primary School have had a busy week fundraising for Children In Need and holding their Grandparents Day.
On Friday, November 18, children and staff dressed in their favourite colour for Children in Need and made a rainbow on the playground at lunchtime. The pupils support Children In Need every year and are waiting to find out how much they raised.
The day before, on Thursday, November 17, Charleton Primary School held an open afternoon for grandparents, family and friends.
Ruth Benton, head of school, said: ‘Almost every child in the school had a visitor so school was very busy! The children loved showing their grandparents around their classrooms and sharing their work.
‘Our visitors really valued the opportunity to come and see where their grandchildren go to school - and to see what primary school is like now. There were lots of comments about how welcoming the school is.
‘In the Kingsbridge Area Church School Federation, we place Parent Partnership very high on our list of priorities. At Charleton it was a pleasure to extend this ethos to our children’s wider families. Everybody who attended agreed that the family atmosphere at the school is one it’s strengths.’
