Coast and Country Cottages joins with other local businesses to create video to show off South Devon

COAST and Country Cottages has joined with other local businesses to produce an inspirational video promoting South Devon as a tourist destination ahead of the 2017 holiday season.

The three times British Travel Award winning agency has produced a two minute film of stunning footage showcasing some of the highlights visitors can enjoy during a holiday in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The video, which is entitled #WakeUpToSouthDevon, features a host of local businesses those visiting the region might encounter during a morning in South Devon, from breakfast at renowned Dartmouth eatery Café Alf Resco, to a sunrise yoga session on South Sands beach in Salcombe with Emma Jaulin.

The video was created to provide potential new visitors with an insight into the area, as well as offering regular holidaymakers a reminder of why they need to arrange a repeat visit soon.

Coast and Country Cottages marketing automation executive, Emily Mercer, co-produced the video. She said: ‘We wanted to show those thinking of visiting South Devon exactly what to expect from this stunning area.

‘The footage includes some of our own favourite spots in the region, and all the activities shown are things we love doing ourselves. It feels great to be able to share this with others.’

Local businesses that worked alongside Coast and Country Cottages and feature in the video include Triocean Surf, The Bake House, Stokeley Farm Shop, Sharpham Wine and Cheese, Riverford Organics, Dart Marina Health Spa and The Gastrobus at Bantham.

In addition to this, the notable beauty spots featured include Start Point lighthouse, Hope Cove, the River Dart, Burgh Island and Torcross.

Emily continues ‘It was truly a pleasure working with local businesses to produce #WakeUpToSouthDevon, and I believe it really sums up the beauty of the South Hams. They say a picture paints a thousand words, this video certainly does!’

Marketing and sales manager Clare Levy adds: ‘We are delighted that so many businesses in the area have chosen to work with us to help create this video. With so many livelihoods in the region dependent on the tourism trade, it is vital we continue investing in marketing to ensure holidaymakers continue to choose South Devon above other holiday destinations.

‘We feel that this inspiring video captures the essence of the area, and hope that it will successfully bring even more visitors to South Devon over the coming year.’

The video was launched on January 3, alongside the Coast and Country Cottages summer savings campaign offering up to £300 OFF selected summer weeks, if booked by January 31.
