Tudor times brought to life in Thurlestone

By Chris Derrick in Education

ALL Saints’ Primary School in Thurlestone held a Tudor banquet at the end of the Autumn term.

Parents came dressed as lords, ladies, kings and queens to enjoy the feast with children from Years 1, 2 and 3.

The children performed a dramatisation of the Spanish Armada, along with dances, music, Christmas carols and poems from Tudor times.

The parents brought Tudor foods for the feast, which was then served by the children. The centrepiece of the banquet was a real pig’s head, kindly provided by the Moore family.

Jan Bosence, deputy head of school said: ‘The event was very well attended and a great success. It was a great pleasure to share with the parents some of the work that the children have done this term.’
